BREEDANDWIN RULES

INTRODUCTION

BreedAndWin is a horse racing game where players face each other in live races by rolling the dice (a game of chance and skill).
It is based on chips (virtual $) and virtual horses, each of them having their own genetic abilities.
Players race their horses by rolling the dice. The better score/number they get by rolling the dice, the faster the horse can run.

Upon registration, each new player gets one horse for free (see the very last paragraph: Rules of creation of any new horse given to a new player).

HORSES

Every horse has a 20 races career. It is automatically retired the day after its last race unless the following two conditions are met:
- the horse has won at least one race.
- the stable owner pays a 20 chips fee to maintain it on the covering market place.

Each horse is unique.

- The speed ability impacts all along the race. It is the reflection of its capacity to maintain a certain speed without tiring.

- The Stamina is a reflection of its capacity to go faster than its base speed for the longest possible duration. The greater the stamina, the longer the horse is able to use its reserves in order to provide the jockey with the requested effort. The stamina mostly impacts on the last 400 meters on a Sprint race, on the last 600 meters on a middle distance, on the last 800 meters on a Stayers distance. A horse that has a good base Speed, but poor Stamina, will be more at ease raced over shorter distances.

- The Flexibility of a horse is its capacity to adapt to the quality of the terrain (firm, good, yielding, soft or heavy). The more this particular characteristic is developed, the more readily the horse will adapt to extremes of going.

- The obediance has a direct impact on the whipping actions. The more obediant the better the horse will react to a strike.

- The fighting spirit is the ability to come back from bad positions in the race.

BREEDING

Stud quotas: a mare can reproduce 5 times while a stallion can reproduce 10 times.

The nominal stud fee amounts to 300 chips and include the entry fees for the full career (20 races).

The first step for a breeder is to identify and match mares and stallions that are most likely to produce future champion horses. The breeder can record a mating with a stallion from his stable or from another player's stable.

The Random Number Generator (RNG) used in the transmission from one generation to another of genetic factors (heredity and breeding algorithms) have been independantly evaluated as fair and not predictable. The proportion of random in breeding algorithms is less than 50% for each racing ability. On top of their own genetic racing abilities, every horses have their own reproduction ability and quality.

Foals do appear in the stable immediately, right after the mating is recorded. They can race immediately after the birth.

To be listed on the stud/breeding marketplace, a stallion must have won at least one race.

SALES RING: THE AUCTION ROOM

The sales ring is based on an auction system only.

A horse can be put up for auction by its owner at anytime, provided the horse does have at least 2 races left. Once the owner puts a horse up for auction, he cannot cancel his decision.

The initial period of an auction lasts 24 hours from the time the owner puts the horse up for sale.

Each counterbid in the last hour extends the auction by 2 hours extra and so on until no-one places a higher bid (the auction is awarded the last and highest bidder).

There is no possibilities to put more than one horse for sale into the same lot.

In case of a Reserve Price option ordered by the seller, the first possible bid is set at the level of the reserve price. Such a device costs a refundable deposit equal to 10% of the reserve price to the seller. This deposit is refunded only if someone does actually buy the horse. In case the horse is not purchased (means that the reserve price has not been paid by anyone), the seller keeps his horse but the reserve price deposit is lost (to the benefit of the platform).

Without Reserve Price option, in case of no bid at all at the end of the auction, then the horse is directly retired and removed from the game without any compensation for the owner.

RACING

Players race their horses by rolling the dice. The better score/number they get by rolling the dice, the faster the horse can run.

The best dice result is 12, then 11, then 10 and so on with a decreasing effect till the worse dice result which is 2 (double one).

Each dice result is then crossed with the genetic abilities of the horse, the racing discipline, the distance, the ground, the position of the other horses on the track, the whipping actions etc...

Races are free to enter as entry fees are pre-financed. When you breed a new horse, the nominal fee is 300 chips, which includes 200 chips for the race nominations: 20 races based on a 10 chips entry fee (= 200 chips). The remaining 100 chips (300 - 200) is the "rake" retained by the game's publisher to operate the website.

Owners whose horses cross the finish line in the first one-third earn chips.

Races are limited to 20 runners, unless it is a Golden Race (restricted to 10 runners max) or a Weekly Trophy (restricted to 20 runners max).

In the event of a race being oversubscribed, horses are eliminated according to their number of Wins (Golden Races Wins in case of a Weekly Trophy), the horses on the list having the fewer wins being removed first.

- In case of a number of horses with the same number of WINS that exceeds the maximum authorized runners (10), the second criteria which is taken into account, is the time of nomination (last in, first eliminated).

Horse resting: a horse has to rest three hours after racing before being able to participate a new race.

WEEKLY NOMINATION FEES

The weekly nomination fee is equal to 3 chips per week per active horse. This fee is collected per horse upon its first race nomination during the week (between two Weekly Trophies ; in other words from Sunday 10 pm London time till the next Sunday 10 pm London time).

If the account balance of the stable is not sufficient to cover the weekly nomination fee, the race nomination for the horse is not blocked unless the race is a Golden Race (read the paragraph below entitled 'Golden Races') or a Weekly Trophy (read the paragraph below entitled 'Weekly Trophy').

TYPES OF RACE

3 racing disciplines on 6 different distances:
- Flat racing (1200m, 2500m)
- Hurdle racing (1000m, 1800m)
- Trotting, harness racing (1200m, 2000m)

6 types of race based on the entry criteria:
- All horses: no access restrictions.
- Winnings = $0: access restricted to a horse that has never finished in the winnings.
- Maiden: access restricted to a horse that has yet to win a single race.
- Claimer (or claiming race): all horses participating a claiming race are put up for sale in the auction room during a 5 minutes period at the end of the race, the auction reserve price being set at the claiming price of the race.
- Golden Race: daily races offering a special prizepool, which attracts as a result the best horses.
- Weekly Trophy: best weekly race restricted to horses having won at least one Golden Race in their career.

GOLDEN RACES

Golden Races are the daily highlight of the Breedandwin game. In these major racing events, best stables and horses race against each other for bigger prizemoney.

There are currently 6 Golden Races on a daily basis.
The sponsored prizemoney for a Golden Race is calculated on the previous day activity: (total number of runners during the previous day X 0,9 chips) / (Number of Golden Races each day), which makes currently for each Golden Race: (total number of runners during the previous day X 0,9 chips) / 6.

Qualifying rules to a Golden Race:
- Max number of runners = 10
- All horses are ranked in descending order according to their number of WINS.
- In the event of a race being oversubscribed, horses are eliminated according to their ranking, with the horses lowest on the list being removed first.
- In case of a number of horses with the same number of WINS that exceeds the maximum authorized runners (10), the second criteria which is taken into account, is the 30 days stable rank in terms of Wins. (* Wins: only races with at least 4 runners are taken into account).

WEEKLY TROPHY

The Weekly Trophy is a unique weekly race scheduled every sunday at 10.01 pm GMT.

It is reserved to active horses (race quota > 0) which have won at least one Golden Race in their career.

Discipline and distance: 1800M hurdling.

The Weekly Trophy prizepool is equal to the sum of all Weekly Nomination Fees (WNF) collected throughout the week. As a reminder, the Weekly Nomination Fee amounts to 3 chips per week per active horse and is collected upon the first race of a horse between two Weekly Trophies (one week period). If the account balance of a stable is not sufficient to cover the WNF, the entry in the race is not blocked unless the nomination is for a Golden Race or a Weekly Trophy (then entry forbidden). If a stable tries to enter in the Weekly Trophy an eligible horse (a Golden Race winner) which has not raced during the weekly period just before the Weekly Trophy, the horse is then not blocked and the WNF is debited upon this late Weekly Trophy nomination.

Qualifying rules to the Weekly Trophy:
- Max number of runners = 20
- All horses having won at least one Golden Race in their career.
- Entered horses are ranked in descending order according to the rank of their Stable in terms of Wins over the last 30 days. (* Wins: only races with at least 4 runners are taken into account). In the event of a race being oversubscribed, horses are eliminated according to this Stable rank.

Rules of creation of any new horse given to a new player

Upon registration, each new player gets one horse for free. The given horse is automatically created at time of registration, according to the following rules and process:

- the algorithm of creation of a new horse takes the last 5 bred horses (the ones bred by players only, not the ones created by BreedAndWin).

- an average value is calculted for each ability (Speed, Stamina, Flexibility, Fighting Spirit, Obediance) from these last 5 born foals.

- the algorithm of creation of a new horse then sets each ability of the new horse based on each calculated average value, plus or minus a number comprised between 0 and 5 randomly chosen for each ability.
